Fried potatoes recipe, spirals in skewer

German-Style Fried Potato Spirals on Skewers

Ingredients:
  • 1 kg small potatoes
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
  • A handful of wooden skewers
  • Your favorite seasonings (e.g., salt, pepper, paprika)

Equipment:

Spiralizer or potato peeler
Air fryer or deep fryer

Instructions:

1.Prepare the potatoes:
Wash the potatoes thoroughly and pat them dry.
Using a spiralizer or potato peeler, create long, thin spirals from each potato.
2. Soak the skewers:
Soak the wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent them from burning
. 3. Assemble the skewers:
Wrap the potato spirals around the soaked skewers, creating a spiral shape.
4. Season:
Drizzle the potato spirals with olive oil and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and your desired seasonings.
5. Cook:
Air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Place the skewers in the air fryer basket and cook for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.
Deep fryer: Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C). Carefully lower the skewers into the hot oil and fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
6. Serve:
Remove the skewers from the fryer or air fryer and let them drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ketchup or aioli.

Tips:

For extra flavor, you can marinate the potatoes in a mixture of olive oil, herbs, and spices before cooking.
If you don't have a spiralizer, you can use a potato peeler to create long, thin strips and then wrap them around the skewers.
For a healthier option, bake the potato spirals in the oven instead of frying them.
Enjoy your delicious German-style fried potato spirals!
